Rankings come from meeting the intent behind the query, not from repeating keywords. Structuring content for informational, comparison and purchase intent.
Google does not count how often your page repeats a keyword; it judges how well it answers the searcher’s question.
Four intent types
- Informational: “what is, how to” → guides, lists, definitions.
- Comparison: “x vs y, best” → tables, pros and cons.
- Transactional: “price, quote, agency” → service page, form.
- Navigational: brand name → home, contact.
Writing rules
Query in the title, short answer in the first paragraph, then depth through subheadings. A subheading, list or image every 300 words keeps readability. End with internal links to related content.
Refreshing
Review your ten highest-traffic pages every quarter; update dates, data and examples. Refreshed content climbs faster than new content.
